The main difference between the packer and the bridge plug is that the packer is generally temporarily left in the well during the construction of fracturing, acidification, leak detection and other measures, and is lifted out with the pipe string after the construction; When waiting for measures, leave it in the well for a period of time or permanently. There are several types of bridge plugs, such as permanent bridge plugs, retrievable bridge plugs, and drillable bridge plugs.
Except for the seals, the whole body of the packer is made of steel, which can be unpacked. Generally, the well is kept at the same time as the seat sealing string, and the well can be kept alone when it is equipped with a throwing hand. The pressure difference is low (except for the fracturing seal). . See Packer Classification and Packer Principle for details. The bridge plug can be divided into three types: fishable, drillable, and fishable and drillable in terms of salvage methods. All of them are sealing tools for separate wells with high pressure difference. The salvageable is similar to the lost hand seal; except for the center pipe, the drillable ones are basically cast iron; the salvageable and drillable shells, center pipes and joints are all steel parts, and the slips are cast iron. In addition, the bridge plug also has a valve at the bottom, which can be opened and closed with a special cannula. These are the basic differences between packers and bridge plugs
